Dawn's Soft Caress

December 28th, 2012 • Sausalito, California

7-minute long exposure of the San Francisco skyline, as viewed from Sausalito. My vision when shooting this iconic scene was to create a soft, dreamy, almost painterly like rendition. I’ve received feedback ranging from “the lack of clarity reminds me of when you try to defog and look out an interior car window” to “it’s your worse work ever.” I am not sure if it’s my worse, but I did break a rule or two of photography. Personally I am undecided - even after sitting on this for a couple years in both digital and printed form. What I can say for certain is that I enjoyed the process of creative exploration and breaking some rules of photography. :)
